Please join the Longleaf Pine Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society Saturday March 25th at 10:00 a.m. for a native adventure at Bone Creek Recreation Area - 4915 Bone Creek Rd. Holt, FL. (map link below). We will carpool from the University Mall NE parking area in front of JC Penney and across from Firestone Tire leaving at 9:15 a.m.. It is about a 40 minute drive from there. Come to Valparaiso's Perrine Park for "Saturday in the Park".  Valparaiso Garden Club's Plant Sale will be outside the Heritage Museum's Paradise Pollinator Garden. Native plants and ornamental plants for your landscape will be available from our own gardens.  Proceeds go to our college scholarship fund.

Weed Wrangle is a national event where volunteers assist with the management of invasive plants.  This year Escambia County Extension is looking for help to manage two invasive plants on Pensacola Beach. Apr 22, 2023 – Biking for Cogongrass (Earth Day Search) We plan to ride bikes around Pensacola Beach searching for invasive cogongrass.  The plant should be in bloom this time of year and easier to find.  We will not remove, only report locations. The Navarre Garden Club typically meets the first Tuesday of every month (Sept - May) at St. Sylvester. Our meeting starts with a social time from 8:45 - 9:15.  Coffee and tea are available. The meeting begins at 9:15 with an interactive program. After the program we take a break. Entering horticulture in the fair is open to members and the public.  Entries are turned in at the rear of Bldg # ? .  Earlier is best.  Doors close promptly at 10:30am.  Those entering should plan on picking up ribbons on Sunday mornin Oct 29th from 8am til noon.  Cut horticulture is not saved but container specimens are and MUST BE PICKED UP during this time frame.  See Fair Flower Show link for entry rules and "The Schedule."

The Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. promotes an active awards program for members that serve to recognize the achievements of individuals, a club/circle or district which further the goals and objectives of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc., the Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and National Garden Clubs, Inc. The application and award descriptions explain it all. This year's deadline for most awards is November 22, 2023.

Business Meeting for Florida Flower Show Judges' Council, District I, Inc. Program:  Design -Is It All In The Mechanics?

An education opportunity for the residents of the surrounding area to bring their beautiful blooms to competition in a Community Camellia Show and Plants Sale. The purpose of the show is to educate the novice on how to prepare their blooms to present it for judging, and have it stand out from the competition. Club members will assist you with bloom identification, set up, entry forms, and placement of blooms by category.
